Our History

The College has a large body of students who comes from various backgrounds. It would be difficult to operate smoothly without some rules and regulations to guide their behavior. Law and order must be maintained to create conducive atmosphere for academic success and progress. It is the polytechnic’s responsibility not only to educate students but to guide their personal development into useful citizens. Knowledge has meaning only if it enables its possessors to live a fuller life which must include behavior responsibility to self and to society.

Our Vision

To have scientific, skilled and verstile Nursing and Midwifery Practitioners who are capable of providing high level care to individual and expectant families in home, primary health care settings, communities in order to reduce maternaland infant mortality rates in consonance with aims of Nursing and Midwifery of Nigeria.

The Objectives of the College are:-

  • To provide full-time courses of instructCouncilsions and training in Nursing and Midwifery.
  • To provide courses of In-service training, workshops and seminars for members of the public and private sectors.

Administration

(a) The Governing Council

This is the highest policy making body of the College. Members are appointed by the Taraba State Government and the College registrar is the secretary to the body.

(b) Academic Board
i.) There shall be a body of the College to be designated as “the academic Board” among its members.

The secretary of the board shall be the Academic Secretary of the college.


ii.) where any member of the Academic Board is incapacitated by illness or any other cause from performing the functions of his office, the Academic Board shall appoint another person to act in his office until the is able to resume the performance of his functions.

(c.) Management Committee
These Committee members are involved in the day to day general management and Administration of the College. They are composed of the Provost as Chairman, Registrar as Secretary, all Principal Officers as members.
